Sui DeFi Exchange Cetus Resumes Operations After $233 Million Exploit
Cetus Protocol, the leading decentralized exchange on the sui blockchain, has resumed operations following a $233 million exploit in May. The attack, which manipulated price curves and reserve calculations, caused significant liquidity losses and triggered sharp declines in SUI-based tokens.
The platform secured a loan from the SUI Foundation, recovered funds, and utilized cash reserves to mitigate damages. Affected users will receive CETUS tokens as compensation. "This isn't just about recovery—it's about resilience and rebuilding," the team stated, emphasizing enhanced security measures for the relaunch.
